20. Roundup week 47

Hi people!!

Since I haven’t blogged anything for the past week, I thought I’d do a weekly roundup. First of all, the reason I haven’t blogged is because I haven’t really taken any photos and I don’t want to publish something without photos, but I am sorry for not updating at all. My normal day this past week has usually been like this: waking up – going to lectures or seminars – writing my essay for my assessement – going to the gym – going to bed. In between that I’ve obviously made food but as you understand it hasn’t really been an interesting week.

On Saturday I went to Kingston to meet my best friend Nina to hang out, eat dinner and then see the newest Hunger Games film. The film was good and the food was good (we did a cheeky lasagne again hehe) but the company was the best thing! I had such a great day and it was so nice to finally spend a day with my bestie again. On sunday I was writing my essay all day and then yesterday I handed it in.. I don’t really have a good feeling about it, but it was my first essay so I’ll just see how it goes.

I’ll try my absolute best to post something on here more frequently from now on.

19. Going back

Hi!

First of all, I’m so sorry that I haven’t posted anything while I’ve been home. I’ve done uni work and been with my family and friends, and it doesn’t feel natural to take up my camera and photograph them while they’re in their homes. I just wanted to enjoy this time with all of them since I won’t be seeing them before christmas.

On another note, I’ve had an amazing week at home. It’s been so nice seeing everyone, sleeping in my own bed and getting homemade food. My flight leaves for London tonight, and guess what’s coming back with me? Norwegian chocolate, soups and brown cheese, woho! I’m excited to get back to London even though it’s back to reality uni wise, I do love that city.

18. Oslo

Helloo!

These last two days has been really nice. Seeing my family again was great and eating my dads homemade food is amazing! I’ve gotten some reading done, and I’ve started planning my essay, which is due in a few weeks, so I actually feel like I’ve done something productive as well. Tonight I’m going to my friends house and we’re making dinner, and he’s even got a little puppy that I haven’t met yet, I’m so excited to meet her!!

– the weather situation I came back to and the current weather situation, soo pretty! –

Tomorrow my mum and I are going to my grandparents for lunch, then dinner with my family, and then I’m going out with my friends later. Busy day, but I love it.

17. Home

Hi!

I’m home. In Norway. In Oslo. As it’s my reading week this week, and I can do my work from pretty much wherever in the world, I decided there was no place I’d rather be than home. I get to see my family and friends again and I get free food. Is there anything better than that? My flight left really early this morning, and when I arrived home no one knew I was coming, so it was a nice little surprise. There really is no place like home, even though I love London so much.

16. Bournemouth

Helloo!

Sorry for my lack of updates this weekend, but as I wrote I’ve been in Bournemouth with some of my best friends. Now I’m back, and I’ve had an awesome time! They were all exchange students a few years ago, so when they decided to do a weekend trip I wanted to join them and see where they lived. It’s such a pretty city, with beaches, piers and a really cute park.

We did some shopping, sightseeing and lots of eating. It was raining on Saturday so almost all of my photos are of food haha! We had dinner at Wagamamas on Friday before going out, and did the same on Saturday, but changed Wagamamas for Chiquito (which does the most amazing frozen daquiries). I had a really nice weekend, but now I’m so tired so I’m gonna have a long shower, watch an episode of something and probably go straight to bed.

15. Dishoom

Good evening!!

My uncle is in London, so yesterday evening I met up with him, my cousin and her boyfriend for a nice meal at Dishoom. Dishoom is a really nice and popular indian restaurant in Covent Garden, and the food was so good. We decided to share a few dishes to try out different things, and my favourite was definitely chicken tikka with rice and naan bread.

After Dishoom we went to a really cool “secret coctail bar” in Chinatown, that I’ve unfortunately forgotten the name of.. It’s a coctail bar hidden behind a dark door in the middle of the street, and it felt quite dogdy to go in there, but it was amazing! The ceiling was mirrored and the drinks were so different and amazing.

Right now I’m in Bournemouth for the weekend with some of my best friends, so I’m really sorry if the blog is slacking a bit. I’ll take loads of photos and I promise to blog when I get back, but I just want to enjoy this time with my friends!

14. Mahiki

Helloo!

Yesterday me and some of my friends went to Mahiki for a night out. Mahiki is a hawaii themed club in Mayfair, and it’s so cool. The interior and decorations are all inspired by Hawaii and tropical places, and even the drinks are tropical. If you order a drink at the bar, you’re likely to get it served in a big coconut with some sprakling lights and some fruit on the side. Our table got served a huge treasure chest filled with some yummy drink, although it was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it was honestly so cool! I don’t know how to descibe it when it arrived, but it was smoke coming out of it and everything (what a great explanation…. it’s easier to look at the photo haha). I didn’t bring my camera with me, but I tried to take some photos with my phone so you at least could get an idea of what it’s like.

If you ever are in London and have the chance to go to Mahiki, I would definitely recommend it. The music they play is great, they play a mixture of new songs and old classics that everyone knows, and the atmosphere there is great.

13. 4th of November

Hi!

Time for woollen jumpers and big scarves! The temperature has suddenly dropped from around 15 degrees to 5 degrees, and it’s soo cold here right now. It feels like it happened over night as well, this weekend was sunny and hot. I like the autumn fashion though, it’s so snuggly and comfy. Right now I’m on my lunch break between two lectures, and later tonight I think I’m going out with some of my friends.

13. Sleek Makeup: Contouring and Blush Palette

Hello!

I am not a professional in makeup what so ever, but I thought I would write a little review/recommendation of one of my favourite makeup products anyway. I always look  kind of dead in the morning after I’ve put on my foundation, so bronzer and blush is two not-to-be-missed steps in my makeup routine. Sleek face Form Contouring and Blush Palette makes this step a lot easier, as everything is gathered in one palette, instead of having 3 different products to look for in my not-so-neat makeup drawer. Sleek is a drugstore brand, which is great for students and people in general who are not interested in paying a loooot of money for something from a high-end brand, as it’s only £7.99.

Of course the price isn’t the only good thing about this product, the colour payoff is great and I love the texture of it. It’s a powder product, not a cream, but it stays in place all day and if I’ve had it on the whole day it still looks great. I also really like the packaging of it, it’s very simple. It’s got three different sections in it; a contour colour, highlighter and blusher, and I’ve got it in the colour Light 373.

I feel a bit weird doing these kinds of reviews, so let me know if you like it or not.

12. Camden Town

Helloo!

On Saturday I met up with my cousin in Camden, for a look around Camden Market and lunch. Camden is quite possibly the weirdest and coolest place I’ve vistited in London so far. As it was a saturday, and the weather was amazing, it was absolutely packed with people, so we didn’t walk around inside the markets for too long. Instead we walked around for a bit trying to find a nice place to eat lunch, and we ended up in a really cute italian restaurant.

There were so many different and cool people walking around, but the thing I found the most fascinating was the decorations on the buildings. Most of the buildings on the main road have massive decorations on the wall, and it just looks soo cool!

After walking around for a while, we decided to walk down the canal towards Kings Cross to get the tube back home. Some parts of the canal were really nice, and some parts were not so nice, but I find it really calming and nice just walking and talking, especially when the weather is so sunny. Later that night I went to the recording of Sweat the Small Stuff, which is a programme on BBC3 hosted by Nick Grimshaw.
